The MINIMART Alfamart chain, in partnership with Manila Catering Corp. (MCC), recently launched Alfa Freeze, a range of frozen snacks exclusively available at Alfamart branches.

The pioneer products of Alfa Freeze are the frozen choco banana, which consists of saba or a sweet plantain dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with marshmallows; frozen ube banana, composed of saba dipped in ube chocolate and pinipig; frozen strawberry banana made with saba dipped in strawberry chocolate and garnished with rainbow sprinkles; and banana and banana ice cream cookies made with saba dipped in cookies and cream chocolate, speckled with pieces of chocolate cookies.

The product line was made possible through collaboration with MCC, one of the country’s leading caterers. The family business, owned by the Baron family with Jamo Baron as COO, has a 32-year heritage and has hosted thousands of private events and provided food for institutional partners and airport lounges.

“We saw this as an opportunity and made the decision to try to partner with Alfamart,” said Baron.

MCC also credited Alfamart as its “saving grace” during the pandemic, as the restaurant industry is one of the most affected by the pandemic.

“We are delighted that the public is trying our new Alfa Freeze snacks,” enthuses Cecille Sy, Senior Assistant Vice President of Alfamart Philippines.
