Get ready, chocolate lovers. The Big Island Chocolate Festival offers a new event that will not only tickle your taste buds, but also fire up your creativity.

The inaugural Dip, Sip, and Paint events of the festival are scheduled for Saturday, August 13 at Island Lave Java in the Coconut Grove Market in Kailua Village. You have the choice between two sessions: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the events outdoors, but under the roof.

“We’re adding a decadent ‘dip’ to everything you expect from a Paint and Sip event,” Big Island Chocolate Festival President Stephanie Beeby said in a press release.

The fun will include paint, unlimited wine or two mocktails, Lava Java pupus and delicious treats to dip in a chocolate fountain sponsored by the Cocoa Outlet.

Admission is $65 for each session, and proceeds benefit the nonprofit Kona Cacao and its support of the island’s cocoa and chocolate industry. Table specials are also available for groups of four.
