Looking Meadow Coffee Co. brings herbal pastries and drinks straight to you – in a vintage mobile camper van.
The owner of the innovative new business – Jamie Herman, a local mother of four – previously worked as a registered nurse in St. Louis before fulfilling her lifelong dream of running her own business last year. “At the beginning of the [COVID-19] pandemic, I decided that a mobile outdoor business would be the best way forward, ”she explains.
“I quickly decided to buy a vintage [1963 Avalon] eBay motorhome in March 2020. As the motorhome was built, I learned how to be a barista thanks to the local roast Blueprint cafe, YouTube videos and help from my cousin , a barista; planned my menu; and learned to run a business. I [opened] in October 2020. “
With a ‘cute, fun and inviting’ boho-chic design, Looking Meadow mobile cafe features Blueprint Coffee and serves organic offerings ranging from cappuccinos and lattes to filter coffees, cold infusions, teas, Italian sodas and more. the lemonade. “I make my own rotating syrups and sauces, including white chocolate sauce, toffee, toffee, lavender, brown sugar and cinnamon, vanilla bean, mango, blackberry and more” , Herman notes. “Our most popular drinks are our seasonal lattes, [such as] blueberry latte and white chocolate lavender.
The rotating menu’s assortment of seasonal pastries includes lemon poppy seed shortbread cookies and lavender and tri-chocolate brownies. “The most popular rotating items are a fully vegan sausage, spinach and cheese quiche, coffee cake, blueberry crumble muffins, chocolate chip cookies, zucchini bread and frosted donuts,” explains Herman. “I’m looking to add more savory options, [including] a caramelized onion pie and a “soup in a coffee cup” with a bun. Finding new ideas is the fun part! The more unique, the better!
