WARM UP, warm up! Get ready for fall with the season’s best treats.
New menus have landed at some of my favorite restaurants, and I’ve found the best ways to help you enjoy steaming maple coffees and sweet apple pies without the sky-high price tag.
CRUSH THE PRICE: Few things say fall quite like a pumpkin spice latte.
The savory version at Starbucks costs £3.65 a cup, but if you head to Greggs you can save with its version on the new autumn menu which costs £2.20.
MAKE YOUR CAKE: September is the busiest month for birthdays. Download the Krispy Kreme rewards app, join the loyalty program and receive a free donut voucher during your birthday month, saving you up to £2.25. You can also get a free donut just for downloading the app.
MAGIC BLEND: McVitie’s and Krispy Kreme have joined forces to create a juicy treat for fall.
The limited edition Jaffanut, inspired by Jaffa cakes, is now in Krispy Kreme stores for £2.45.
You can also get the more biscuity Jaffa Jonuts in supermarkets, with a four-pack down from £1.50 to £1.25 at Asda.
MAPLE YOUR OWN: Costa’s new line of drinks is all about maple, including a Maple Hazel Latte and a Maple Hazel Hot Chocolate, both accompanied by a Light Dairy Swirl.
You can save money by making your own maple latte at home: just heat some milk gently in a saucepan. Make an espresso coffee and stir in a spoonful of maple syrup.
Whisk the hot milk, then pour it over the espresso and enjoy.
PIES HAVE IT: Taste autumn with Mr Kipling Bramley apple pies.
A six-pack costs £1.90 at Tesco, or you can upgrade to store brand and get your delicious half-dozen for 84p.
