As part of this partnership, McCormick will be posting a limited number of free Mexican hot chocolate craft kits on McCormick.com/DayoftheDead departure September 28, 2021 To 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The kits will contain information about Día de los Muertos organized by Poderistas, Eva longoria and Lilliana Vazquez, as well as the ingredients and tools needed to make Creamy Mexican Hot Chocolate, including: Mexican chocolate discs; McCormick Ground Cinnamon, Chipotle Pepper and Pure Vanilla Extract; a traditional wooden molinillo for whipping hot chocolate; and a handcrafted clay mug that can be decorated with colorful heritage-inspired designs using the included paint markers. To complete the hot treat, a pack of PEEPS® Marshmallow Skulls has just been released, which will create a shaker inspired by the sugar skull.

Before Día de los Muertos, the co-founders of Poderistas, Eva longoria and Elsa Collins, will organize an Instagram Live event of @poderistas and @Eva Longoria in late October, where they’ll unwrap the kit, decorate the clay cups, and demonstrate how to make the Creamy Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe, all while leading an important conversation about the meaning of the celebration, including their personal stories and traditions. In the same way, Lilliana Vasquez will also share information on Día de los Muertos, engaging its followers around culinary traditions.

In addition to the livestream, Poderistas will also engage with their subscribers in the days and weeks leading up to Día de los Muertos, offering freebies to supporters and sharing content and information to create opportunities for Latinos to come together as that community around the holidays.
