Prices for all Christmas events from Fenwick to Newcastle as tickets prepare to go on sale

Fenwick will be bracing for a rush of ticket sales on Thursday morning as the first of its Christmas event schedule goes on sale.

Newcastle’s favorite festive rooftop Santa is always in high demand and many families will be ready to get in on the action as soon as tickets go on sale from 10am. This will be followed by the Santa Claus cinema and there is a new addition to this year’s program – an afternoon tea option with Santa Claus, which is also available for his regular breakfasts and dinners.

Earlier in September, Fenwick advertised a Santa who will no doubt be busy during his series of seasonal events. Regular visitors might be familiar with the annual treats in store, but for others, here’s a roundup of all the events on offer and, most importantly, how much they cost.

Santa on the Roof is the first to go on sale this Thursday, September 29, when tickets go out for the highly anticipated Halloween parties at the Beamish Museum. Tickets to its other events, including the Rooftop Cinema, will follow at a later date.

The advice for anyone hoping to book is to be quick. So this guide includes important dates to note if you want to enjoy one of Fenwick’s family treats this year.

Fenwick in Newcastle is hiring a Santa Claus this Christmas.

Santa on the roof

November 7 to December 24

This immersive experience will begin with a greeting from the elves and a Santa Claus Express elevator ride to the roof of the store. Visitors will meet reindeer singing there before taking an “elf-mobile” to meet Santa Claus in his cabin.

Youngsters can enjoy craft activities with the elves, including decorating a bespoke ceramic plate to take home, and there will be a stop at Café Claus for winter-warming drinks and treats as well as an opportunity to take an ‘Elfie’ inside Santa’s sleigh.

Tickets: £17.50 – on sale from 10am on Thursdays, September 29. Keep an eye here.

Santa’s Breakfast Club

From Friday 9 November to Friday 23 December – Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings

To note: all food-related events take place in Fenwick’s new Arthur’s Restaurant on the first floor. They do not include a visit to Santa Claus on the roof as part of the experience: this would have to be purchased separately.

Breakfast options include waffles, eggs and sausage and Santa will take the stage while families eat. Young guests will receive elf hats and Fenwick’s bespoke Christmas coloring book before meeting the playful elves and Santa for a photo and Christmas present.

Tickets: £20. These will go on sale from 10am on Thursday, October 6.

Santa’s Supper Club

From Friday 9 November to Friday 23 December

A two-course seasonal dinner will be served before youngsters can say hello to Santa as he keeps his elves under control.

Tickets: £27.50. On sale from 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 6.

Afternoon tea with Santa Claus

From Sunday 13 November to Sunday 18 December

This is a new event for 2022. The tea party will include a special version for children. It will also include a photograph with Santa Claus and a Christmas gift. There will be two afternoon tea sessions per day, at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Tickets: £27.50. On sale from 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 6.

Santa’s Cinema

From Thursday 10 November to Saturday 24 December

On the fifth floor of the department store, the cinema will host evening screenings of festive family films. Adults can choose from a free mulled wine or spiced apple juice and younger ones can enjoy hot chocolate or juice as well as lots of popcorn.

There will also be a Roof Thirty-Nine pre-cinema experience available where, prior to the screening of the film, guests can take in views of the city skyline from Fenwick’s rooftop restaurant alongside a cocktail, snacks and a main course of a festive Burger. A vegan version will be available.

Tickets: £17.50. Roof Thirty-Nine Pre-Cinema Experience – £35. These will be available from 10am on Thursday, October 6.

Booking tips

This year, to help meet the high demand, ticket provider Fenwick Ticketsource will provide a virtual queue to help manage reservations. The advice to customers, once they have joined the reservation queue, is to avoid loading multiple tabs or refreshing their browser.
