Nominations are open for the Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards.

The awards have been designed to highlight Derby’s busy food and beverage industry, and nominations are welcome from members of the public, business leaders and business owners alike. food and drink.

The nomination period is open for four weeks, after which a list of finalists will be established before potential winners are announced at a ceremony at The Chocolate Factory, which is home to Bustler Market, on Monday, October 18.

John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: “The impact of the pandemic on hospitality makes these awards more important than ever.

“We can’t wait to see who gets nominated in this key area for the city. “

The awards are made up of 12 categories, many of which are new.

Of the 12 categories, 10 will be open to applications.

The winners of the Global Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards winner for 2021 and the Outstanding Achievement award will be revealed overnight.

Entrants of all categories except the Country Pub / Restaurant award must be based in the “Greater Derby” area.

Nominations can be made through the Marketing Derby website.

Once the nomination period has ended, nominations will be used to select three finalists in each category, with the exception of the Excellence in Customer Service category, which will have a shortlist of six.

The winner of this category will be elected by the public.

Regarding the other categories, the representatives of each sponsor will judge their own category, which implies “mystery shopping” among the three finalists and a rating according to defined criteria.

Located in Castleward at the junction of John Street and Siddals Road, The Chocolate Factory offers approximately 30,000 square feet of space to host events such as beer festivals, weddings, corporate events, days outdoors and craft fairs.

Featuring an on-site bar, giant TV screens and enough seating to seat 1,500 people, The Chocolate Factory is operated by the team behind Bustler Market, a regular street food market.
