Global sandwich chain Subway could add a hot new vegan chicken product to its menu, according to an insider.
UK customers are on course for an exciting vegetarian if reports are as they say, as the product is expected to roll out next month.
According to Vegan Food UK, the fast food chain will be releasing Vegan Chick’n Tikka Subs soon.
An image of meatless tikka soybean pieces was obtained by the organization, which later shared it on social media.
But “This is not yet promoted by the metro and is not disclosed,” confirmed the outlet.
Vegan Food UK is an online organization that shares news, reviews, vlogs and more on vegan food. It works across multiple social media platforms, with a Facebook group, Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Instagram account.
Currently, Subway offers a Chicken Tikka Sub but does not yet offer a vegan version in the UK.
The company is taking steps to expand its vegan chicken offerings elsewhere in the world.
This month, Subway announced a partnership with Nestlé to expand its offerings in Singapore.
Until January 22, customers can order the plant-based chicken cutlet, made with Neslté’s Garden Gourmet chicken alternative.
Back in the UK, Subway’s other vegan offerings include Meatless Meatball Marinara, TLC aka Tastes.Like.Chicken and Vegan Cheese Toasted Bite.
