Tapas Talks, a series of talks in Sewickley that highlights the exceptional talents and achievements of individuals in the area, continues to give back to the community.
A donation was recently made to the Quaker Valley Education Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2015 that provides financial assistance to Quaker Valley students who plan to learn and specialize in a STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine).
Each year, the organization awards six prizes, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. Seniors at Quaker Valley High School send a written request for consideration to administrators for review. To date, 38 QV seniors have received this award. The organization’s next call for funds will take place this fall.
Donations can be sent to [email protected] or PO Box 174, Sewickley Pa., 15143. The phone number is 412-749-3885.
The third and final event for 2022 Series subscribers will be Leslie Braksick, co-founder and senior partner of My Next Season, who will present on “Your Next Season: Creating a Blueprint for What’s Next.” Members enjoy tapas while socializing with friends, neighbors, colleagues and new acquaintances before each conference. The conversation then continues with dessert, coffee and tea.
The list of outstanding speakers continues. Information on the 2023 series will be released in the fall.
