Nestlé’s KitKat V is making its way to Australia, as the classic crispy wafer chocolate takes on a vegan form and is mixed with a rice-based milk alternative.
The bar was developed by chocolate makers and food scientists at Nestlé’s UK research and development center, the home of KitKat.
Director of the Nestlé Confectionery Products Technology Center in York, Louise Barrett, said the goal was always to recreate the iconic product using plant-based products.
“To achieve this, we have worked very hard to find the right balance between the alternative to milk and cocoa. The result is a vegan chocolate that we are very proud of, and I hope all KitKat fans love it as much as we do, ”Barrett said.
Joyce Tan, Head of Confectionery Marketing at Nestlé, said: “We saw so much excitement and anticipation from our fans when plans for the first vegan KitKat were announced earlier this year, so I am delighted to share that KitKat V is coming to Australia. “

KitKat V is certified vegan by the Vegan Society, is made from 100% certified sustainable cocoa, sourced from the Nestlé Cocoa Plan in collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance, just like the rest of the KitKat range.
KitKat V is available now for pre-order on the KitKat Chocolatory website and available nationwide in stores starting July 26 at KitKat Chocolatory and Woolworths Metro (RRP: $ 2.00).
